Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

"The Trouble With People Today"

In the world of business, no meeting of the high and mighty is complete without the chorus of "Our big trouble today is getting enough good people." This is a rehash of the same old nonsense that has been spouted for generations. Your people are not lazy and incompetent, they simply appear that way because they are beaten down by the overlapping policies, rules, and systems that encrust your company like barnacles on a ship.

Have you any idea what hoops they have to jump through just to hire someone or purchase something? It's time to stop running down your people and start tearing down the system that has defeated and imprisoned them. It is your responsibility to recognize that they are rusty from underwork and to provide them with the tools and resources they need to thrive.

As a leader, you must be the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk of your industry, leading your people to break free from the chains of an oppressive system. Be the visionary who inspires your team to rise up and break free from the constraints that are holding them back. If you can accomplish this, your people will come to life with renewed vigour and enthusiasm, and your company will soar to new heights of success.

Let us not bemoan the shortage of good people. Instead, let us take responsibility for the state of our organizations and lead the charge to tear down the barriers that are stifling our people's potential.

Şerefe!
