How To Organise Vacations

In my experience, it's best to leave vacation time up to each individual, similar to office hours. Trust your responsible employees to use their time wisely, and don't let rigid policies run your best people out of town when they need some well-deserved play time.

The key to making this policy work is to foster a culture of responsibility and accountability. Set clear expectations for work output, and empower your employees to manage their time effectively. By doing so, you'll develop a team of dedicated, self-motivated individuals who are committed to providing high-quality work while also taking care of themselves.

Make sure that someone is acting as the Chief Operations Officer when essential personnel are away.

Remember, a well-rested and rejuvenated team is a productive team. So, let your employees take the time they need to recharge their batteries and come back refreshed and ready to tackle their work with renewed energy and focus.

Be careful though. Sometimes this policy may lead to people burning themselves out because they’re afraid to take any time off. Monitor who is around, and insist that staff take time off when they need it.
